Vznikl\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1stice pat\u0159\u00ed mezi ionty, p\u0159esn\u011bji kationty. V kationtech je men\u0161\u00ed po\u010det elektron\u016f ne\u017e proton\u016f a proto kationty maj\u00ed kladn\u00fd n\u00e1boj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u010c\u00e1stice, kter\u00e9 mohou m\u00edt elektrick\u00fd n\u00e1boj:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e1boj m\u016f\u017ee b\u00fdt kladn\u00fd (+) nebo z\u00e1porn\u00fd (\u2013).&nbsp;<strong>Kladn\u00fd element\u00e1rn\u00ed n\u00e1boj e m\u00e1 proton, z\u00e1porn\u00fd element\u00e1rn\u00ed n\u00e1boj \u2013e m\u00e1 elektron<\/strong>. Elektrickou vodivost vzduchu poprv\u00e9 zjistil Ch.&nbsp;A.&nbsp;Coulomb (1795), vysv\u011btlena byla koncem 19.&nbsp;stolet\u00ed J.&nbsp;P.&nbsp;L.&nbsp;J.&nbsp;Elsterem a H.&nbsp;F.&nbsp;Geitelem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elektrick\u00e1 vodivost vzduchu z\u00e1vis\u00ed na hustot\u011b iont\u016f a roste p\u0159ibli\u017en\u011b exponenci\u00e1ln\u011b s v\u00fd\u0161kou. Ve v\u00fd\u0161ce 18 km je vodivost asi o dva \u0159\u00e1dy vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e u zem\u011b. Ve v\u00fd\u0161ce 50 km nad zem\u00ed m\u00e1 vzduch tak vysokou vodivost, \u017ee m\u016f\u017ee b\u00fdt pova\u017eov\u00e1n za dobr\u00fd vodi\u010d. Elektrick\u00fd n\u00e1boj, kter\u00fd dos\u00e1hne t\u00e9to v\u00fd\u0161e, se proto rovnom\u011brn\u011b rozd\u011bl\u00ed okolo zem\u011bkoule. Modelov\u011b si lze s jist\u00fdm zjednodu\u0161en\u00edm p\u0159edstavit, \u017ee atmosf\u00e9rave v\u00fd\u0161ce nad 50 km a povrch Zem\u011b tvo\u0159\u00ed jakoby dv\u011b desky koncentrick\u00e9ho kulov\u00e9ho kondenz\u00e1toru. Za klidn\u00e9ho ovzdu\u0161\u00ed, tj. za jasn\u00e9 oblohy nebo p\u0159i mal\u00e9 obla\u010dnosti beze sr\u00e1\u017eek, mlhy, siln\u00e9ho v\u011btru apod., m\u00e1 zemsk\u00fd povrch z\u00e1porn\u00fd a atmosf\u00e9ra p\u0159eva\u017euj\u00edc\u00ed kladn\u00fd n\u00e1boj. Elektrick\u00e9 pole v atmosf\u00e9\u0159e se p\u0159i tomto rozlo\u017een\u00ed n\u00e1boje pova\u017euje za kladn\u00e9. Pr\u016fm. elektrick\u00fd gradient klidn\u00e9ho ovzdu\u0161\u00ed je u zemsk\u00e9ho povrchu asi 130 V.m\u20131, hustota n\u00e1boje na povrchu zem\u011b je p\u0159ibli\u017en\u011b1,1 . 10\u20139 C.m\u20132, tak\u017ee celkov\u00fd z\u00e1porn\u00fd n\u00e1boj zemsk\u00e9ho povrchu je asi 0,5 mili\u00f3nu C. Hustota elektrick\u00e9ho proudu mezi povrchem zem\u011b a horn\u00ed vrstvou atmosf\u00e9ry se odhaduje p\u0159i klidn\u00e9m ovzdu\u0161\u00ed na 3.10\u201312 A.m\u20132, co\u017e pro cel\u00fd zemsk\u00fd povrch p\u0159edstavuje asi 1500 A. Tato hodnota v\u0161ak nen\u00ed dosahov\u00e1na v re\u00e1ln\u00e9 atmosf\u00e9\u0159e, nebo\u0165 asi polovina Zem\u011b je zahalena oblaky. Elektrick\u00e1 vodivost vzduchu vzr\u016fst\u00e1 s v\u00fd\u0161kou, av\u0161ak vertik\u00e1ln\u011b tekouc\u00ed elektrick\u00fd proud z\u016fst\u00e1v\u00e1 s v\u00fd\u0161kou prakticky konstantn\u00ed, z \u010deho\u017e vypl\u00fdv\u00e1, \u017ee el. gradient s v\u00fd\u0161kou kles\u00e1, a je tud\u00ed\u017e nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed p\u0159i zemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elektrick\u00e1 vodivost vzduchu roste s v\u00fd\u0161kou, co\u017e sv\u011bd\u010d\u00ed o rozhoduj\u00edc\u00ed roli kosmick\u00e9ho z\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed p\u0159i atmosf\u00e9rick\u00e9 ionizaci. Ur\u010dit\u00fd dopl\u0148uj\u00edc\u00ed vliv v\u0161ak m\u00e1 i radioaktin\u00ed z\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed zemsk\u00e9ho povrchu, pop\u0159. p\u0159\u00edm\u011bs\u00ed rozpt\u00fdlen\u00fdch p\u0159\u00edmo v atmosf\u00e9\u0159e.
